Wow! What a turn out! On Wednesday, October 6th, 72% of our students joined millions of students all over the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day and walked or biked to school. Accompanied by a horse and enthusiastic parents and greeted at school by the Gardner Grizzly and Principal Gilbert, our students beat last year’s citywide average of 64% participation. Ms. Evenhuis’ class had the best school participation rate with 22 out of 23 kids walking or biking to school. Pretty Impressive!! We hope you enjoyed this activity so much that you will continue to walk and bike to school throughout the year.
Effective immediately, Silly Bandz are no longer permitted at school. They have become a distraction from learning and are fostering negative competition among our students. So wear them, trade them and talk about them after school and off campus. But please, no more Silly Bandz at school.
